A Stunning Spectacle at the "Colors of Dien Bien" Street Cultural Parade

On the evening of March 15, at 7/5 Square, the People’s Committee of Dien Bien Phu City organized the "Colors of Dien Bien" Street Cultural Parade. Attending and supporting the program were Mr. Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; provincial leaders; officials from departments, sectors, and localities within the province, along with thousands of residents and tourists.

The 2025 Street Cultural Parade, themed "Colors of Dien Bien", featured the participation of nearly 3,000 people, including singers, artists, artisans, performers, and students from both central and local units. Among them were well-known artists such as Anh Tho, Viet Danh, Linh Chi, Ngoc Ha, Cam Tu, and Minh Hang.

The program opened with a ceremonial segment followed by a special artistic performance titled "Dien Bien's Greetings to All, Cultural Identity Blending with Modern Atmosphere", featuring musical and dance acts such as "City of Bauhinia Flowers," "Dien Bien Welcomes You," "To the Northwest with You," and "Dance of Dien Bien Colors." These performances vividly portrayed Dien Bien, the land of Bauhinia flowers, carrying a thousand-year cultural legacy. It is a sacred land where the vast sky and mighty rivers intertwine with the warm-hearted and generous nature of its people, who have transformed this region into a land of prosperity and beauty. The majestic mountains bear the footprints of history, where nature flourishes, and people sing in harmony with their surroundings.

Throughout history, Muong Thanh land has witnessed countless changes and transformations. From the early days of reclamation and settlement to the journey of ethnic unity in conquering nature and resisting foreign invaders, the people of Dien Bien have forged a region of prosperous culture and history. In the vibrant rhythm of a new era, Dien Bien is confidently moving forward. With its abundant potential in nature, history, culture, and human resources, the province stands at the threshold of new opportunities, always welcoming friends from all over the world. The essence of Dien Bien lingers in the hearts of people, inspiring all ethnic communities to build a land of radiant aspirations.

Following the opening performances was an artistic parade titled "Dien Bien – A Convergence of Colors." The parade featured a motorcycle procession with high-displacement bikes from Hanoi, along with 10 themed floats representing key cultural symbols, including monuments, the festival logo, Mong ethnic traditions, Lao culture, Thai ethnic heritage, and the golden Muong Thanh rice fields. The parade also included community performers representing various ethnic groups, promoting historical and ecological tourism, as well as the distinct cultural features of Dien Bien Phu City and Dien Bien District. After the artistic parade, the entire procession continued through the streets in a decorated vehicle parade, spreading the festival’s spirit throughout the community.

This event was one of the key activities within the 2025 Ban Flower Festival, contributing to strengthening the "All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life" movement. It aimed to introduce, promote, and honor the historical and cultural values of Dien Bien’s land and people, further enhancing the image of the Bauhinia flower - a symbol of resilience that thrives despite harsh natural challenges. Enduring storms and hardships, the Bauhinia flower patiently awaits the arrival of spring, blooming vibrantly to adorn the land, blending harmoniously with nature and the people of this borderland, creating a unique and deeply rooted cultural identity.
