On the morning of March 7, at May 7 Square, Dien Bien Province organized the expanded cycling and cross-country race “Towards Dien Bien Phu” within the framework of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival. The cycling race attracted hundreds of athletes competing enthusiastically, creating a vibrant sporting atmosphere and enriching the activities of the festival season.
Dien Bien actively prepares for the 2026 Ban Flower Festival
The Ban Flower Festival, a typical cultural event of Dien Bien Province held annually in mid-March, was being urgently implemented by provincial authorities and sectors with a proactive and responsible spirit, ensuring appropriate scale, quality and effectiveness. In 2026, the Festival took place from March 6 to March 12 across the province, with key activities concentrated in Dien Bien Phu Ward.
Vibrant street carnaval within the framework of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival
On the evening of March 9th, at the May 7 Square in Dien Bien Phu Ward, Dien Bien Province, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a street Carnaval program within the framework of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival with the theme “Dien Bien – Colors of Ban Flowers.” The program attracted nearly 2,900 performers, artisans, athletes, students, art clubs and a large number of local residents and tourists.

On the evening of March 6th, at the Muong Thanh Tourism Market area in Dien Bien Phu Ward, Dien Bien Province held the opening ceremony of the exhibition, promotion and introduction of cultural and tourism products and cultural experience spaces within the framework of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival. Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; representatives of provincial departments, agencies, mass organizations and localities; representatives of units, enterprises and artisans, along with a large number of residents and visitors.

On the evening of March 8th, at the Provincial Stadium, Dien Bien Province solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival with the theme “Ban Flower – Aspiration of Dien Bien,” drawing the eager anticipation of a large number of residents and visitors. Attending the opening ceremony were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; members and former members of the Party Central Committee; international guests; leaders of central ministries and agencies; and leaders of many localities.

On the morning of March 8th, on the occasion of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation offered flowers and incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House at the E2 Hill Historical Site; paid tribute to heroic martyrs at the Temple of Martyrs at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield; and visited the A1 National Martyrs’ Cemetery.
