Vibrant cycling and cross - country race “Towards Dien Bien Phu” at the 2026 Ban Flower Festival
On the morning of March 7, at May 7 Square, Dien Bien Province organized the expanded cycling and cross-country race “Towards Dien Bien Phu” within the framework of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival. The cycling race attracted hundreds of athletes competing enthusiastically, creating a vibrant sporting atmosphere and enriching the activities of the festival season.

The Ban Flower Festival, a typical cultural event of Dien Bien Province held annually in mid-March, was being urgently implemented by provincial authorities and sectors with a proactive and responsible spirit, ensuring appropriate scale, quality and effectiveness. On the evening of March 9th, at the May 7 Square in Dien Bien Phu Ward, Dien Bien Province, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a street Carnaval program within the framework of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival with the theme “Dien Bien – Colors of Ban Flowers.” The program attracted nearly 2,900 performers, artisans, athletes, students, art clubs and a large number of local residents and tourists.
Opening of the exhibition and promotion of cultural and tourism products and cultural experience spaces
On the evening of March 6th, at the Muong Thanh Tourism Market area in Dien Bien Phu Ward, Dien Bien Province held the opening ceremony of the exhibition, promotion and introduction of cultural and tourism products and cultural experience spaces within the framework of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival. Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; representatives of provincial departments, agencies, mass organizations and localities; representatives of units, enterprises and artisans, along with a large number of residents and visitors.

On the evening of March 8th, at the Provincial Stadium, Dien Bien Province solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival with the theme “Ban Flower – Aspiration of Dien Bien,” drawing the eager anticipation of a large number of residents and visitors. On the morning of March 8th, on the occasion of the 2026 Ban Flower Festival, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation offered flowers and incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House at the E2 Hill Historical Site; paid tribute to heroic martyrs at the Temple of Martyrs at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield; and visited the A1 National Martyrs’ Cemetery.

On the morning of February 24th, in the vibrant atmosphere of the early days of the New Year, the Party Committee, authorities and people of all ethnic groups of Tua Chua commune solemnly organized the Opening Ceremony of Spring Tourism 2026. Attending the ceremony was Comrade Lo Van Cuong – Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
A sky of white Ban flowers, Dien Bien invites the 2026 Festival season
Each spring, when the Northwestern mountain slopes glow under the fresh sunlight, the pure white blossoms of Ban Flowers blanket the land and sky of Dien Bien, ushering in the most beautiful season of the year. The blooming Ban Flowers not only soften the overlapping mountain ranges and embellish streets and villages with added charm, but also awaken in people’s hearts a deep pride in a land rich in tradition and aspiration.
Happy the Khu Su Cha New Year!
As the first cold winds of winter sweep across the northwestern border region, the Ha Nhi people in the communes of Sin Thau and Muong Nha excitedly celebrate their traditional Khu Su Cha New Year. Unlike the Lunar New Year of the Kinh people, the Khu Su Cha New Year usually takes place around December 15th, a time when the harvest is complete and people are relaxed after a year of hard work.
