The 2024 Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu in Dien Bien province is one of the most welcomed events of the year. It is expected that the festival will be held at the beginning of the year at Cherry blossom island, Pa Khoang commune, Dien Bien Phu city. This is considered an outstanding eco-tourism area of the province and is 10km from the city center. With more than 1,000 Japanese cherry blossom trees, it creates a beautiful, sparkling space that attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Activities taking place within the framework of the festival at Cherry blossom island, Pa Khoang commune, Dien Bien Phu city as planned include: Vietnam - Japan cultural exchange performance; wine party "Sake - Mong Pe" and "Thang Co Hotpot - Oden Hotpot"; Culinary contest "Flavours of Dien Bien"; Vegetable and Fruit market and exhibition of high quality agricultural products and display of OCOP products, introduction of cultural and tourism products.

Along with that, the festival also includes many traditional experience activities of both Vietnam and Japan. Experience folk games, which organize traditional and folk games of Vietnam's ethnic groups such as tossing shuttlecocks, pushing sticks, tug of war, and walking on stilts and throwing pa pao. Japanese games such as playing cards (Karuta), playing bridge (Hanetsuki); display and experience Japanese cultural space. In addition, at the festival, visitors will experience traditional KIMONO costumes, learn tea ceremony and how to make traditional Japanese mochi cakes.

In addition to cultural, artistic and culinary activities, the Cherry Blossom Festival also holds exchange activities and sports competitions such as: "Dien Bien Phu Marathon 2024" with an expected scale of about 1.500 runners. participating members; Open KAYAK Boat Race.

The 2024 Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu is an activity that contributes to strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the spirit of strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia; Strengthen friendly relations and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries in general and with Dien Bien province in particular.

At the same time, this is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan and the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
