 Position and Functions

The Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs of Dien Bien Province is a specialized agency under the Provincial People's Committee. It functions as an advisory body, assisting the Provincial People's Committee in state management of ethnic and religious affairs, and carries out tasks and exercises powers as delegated by the Provincial People's Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The Department of  Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs has legal status, its own seal, and an independent account as prescribed by law. It operates under the direction, management, and administration of the Provincial People's Committee while also complying with the guidance, inspection, and professional instructions of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs and Religion./.
