Positions and Functions:

The Department of Science and Technology of Dien Bien Province is a specialized agency under the Provincial People's Committee. It performs the function of advising and assisting the Provincial People's Committee in state management of the following areas: science and technology; development of scientific and technological potential; standards, measurement, and quality; intellectual property; application of radiation and radioactive isotopes; radiation and nuclear safety; postal services; telecommunications; radio frequency management; information technology industry, digital technology industry; information technology applications; electronic transactions; digital economy, digital society, and digital transformation; information and communication infrastructure; management and implementation of public service activities within the Department's functional scope as prescribed by law.

The Department of Science and Technology has legal status, its own seal, and an independent account as prescribed by law. It operates under the direction and management of the Provincial People's Committee within its authority while also complying with the guidance, inspection, and professional instructions of the Ministry of Science and Technology./.
