Highlights of the Northwest Quintessence Street Festival program
On the evening of September 19th, at the Provincial Stadium, Dien Bien Province, in coordination with the expanded Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the Northwest Quintessence Festival – Dien Bien 2025 amidst the anticipation of thousands of residents and visitors.
The solidarity Xoe dance circle in the “Northwest Quintessence” Street Festival gathered cultural colors with the participation of the community, creating a brilliant highlight.
Opening the event was an art program including the songs: Invitation to Dien Bien; The Beauty of Muong Then; Returning to the Festival; Highland Sticky Rice Cake Pounding Festival; Radiant Dien Bien; Oh Vietnam performed by artists, artisans, and dancers from the expanded Northwest provinces, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The program attracted the participation of more than 900 actors, artisans, students, and local people.
The Street Festival was a new feature of the Northwest Quintessence Festival – Dien Bien 2025, aiming to bring a colorful artistic space with folk songs, folk dances, traditional costumes, and folk craftsmanship. The program was designed as an open stage, where visitors and locals could interact, experience, and feel the cultural depth of the highlands.
The “Northwest Quintessence” Street Festival was not only a performing arts activity, but also an occasion to honor and promote the diverse and rich cultural identity of the ethnic communities.
Through the program, the goal was to continue to strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of cooperative tourism development between the expanded Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to promoting and exploiting the tourism potential and advantages of localities and internationally. At the same time, it was also an event to honor the cultural essence of the Northwest, promote the image of Dien Bien tourism as “Safe – Friendly – Attractive,” contributing to socio-economic development in the region.
