On the morning of March 24, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to deploy the plan for organizing the Dien Bien Provincial Investment and Tourism Promotion Conference 2026. The meeting was chaired by Comrade Le Van Luong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Attending the meeting were Comrade Lo Van Cuong, Member of the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Nguyen Minh Phu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; together with leaders of several departments, sectors, and relevant units.

According to the plan, the Investment and Tourism Promotion Conference is expected to take place over two days (May 5 - 6, 2026) at the Hoa Ban Hall, Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, under the theme: “Dien Bien – Strategic Destination for Investment and Tourism Development.” The event will be held in person and combined with multiple side activities such as OCOP product exhibitions, tourism photo exhibitions, field surveys of investment projects, and the Vietnam Private Economic Forum 2026.

Notably, within the program framework, the province will organize field survey delegations by sector, including urban infrastructure – logistics, tourism – services, and high-tech agriculture, enabling investors to directly access potential projects. At the same time, promotional and media activities will be implemented in a coordinated manner before, during, and after the conference to disseminate the image of Dien Bien, a land rich in historical and cultural traditions with significant tourism development potential.

Leaders of the Department of Finance discussed several matters related to the conference’s funding.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussion and contributed many opinions to improve the content and organization of the conference. The discussions focused on scheduling the conference; developing detailed scripts for each activity and assigning clear responsibilities to each agency, linked to specific timelines; reviewing and selecting projects expected to commence, and issuing investment policy decisions.

Leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade provided input during the meeting.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Luong emphasized that the 2026 Investment and Tourism Promotion Conference is a meaningful activity that contributes to promoting the province’s potential, advantages, and investment environment. He requested that the organization of the conference ensure efficiency, economy, and practicality; all program contents should be thoroughly prepared, focused, and linked to the objectives of attracting investment and developing tourism. Efforts should be made to strengthen communications, diversify media channels, and promote the image of Dien Bien as a destination with abundant potential, friendly and attractive to investors and tourists.
