This is the place where the bloody massacre of the French colonialists against ethnic minorities in Noong Nhai Village happened on April 25th, 1954, killing 444 people most of them were the elderly, women, and children. The memorial stele was erected to mark the sins of the colonialism and educate the patriotism for the young generation of Dien Bien in particular and the Vietnamese people in general./.
