Opening Ceremony of the Tourism Photo Exhibition, Showcase of Unique Tourism Products, and Northwest Culinary Festival
On the morning of September 19th, at 7/5 Square (Dien Bien Phu Ward), the Provincial People’s Committee, in coordination with the expanded Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the Tourism Photo Exhibition, Showcase of Unique Tourism Products, and Northwest Culinary Festival.
Delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the Exhibition.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Giang Thi Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; leaders of provincial departments, sectors, and localities; representatives of the expanded Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City; along with a large number of local residents and visitors.
The Tourism Photo Exhibition, Showcase of Unique Tourism Products, and Northwest Culinary Festival are activities within the framework of the Northwest Quintessence Festival – Dien Bien 2025. Besides the exhibition booths of Dien Bien Province, the event also featured the participation of 15 provinces and cities nationwide, including: Lai Chau, Son La, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, Quang Ngai, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hanoi, and Hai Phong.
Visitors to the Exhibition will experience: The tourism photo exhibition “Colors of the Northwest”, with nearly 210 outstanding works vividly reflecting the beauty of nature, people, culture, and development potential of the Northwest provinces. The exhibition space introducing unique tourist destinations – a convergence of typical cultural and tourism values, giving visitors a comprehensive view of the land, people, and products of localities and businesses. The Northwest Culinary Festival, where each dish not only embodies regional flavors but also tells stories about customs, traditions, and the culinary heritage of ethnic groups.
In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Vu A Bang, introduced the tourism potential and strengths of the Northwest provinces. He emphasized the significance and importance of the Northwest Quintessence Festival – Dien Bien 2025 and the events within its framework, including cultural, tourism, and culinary showcases. He expressed his hope that the activities will create a rich and emotional experience space for residents and visitors attending the Festival, while also honoring and introducing traditional values, evoking pride, and fostering sustainable socio-economic development cooperation between the expanded Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.
The Exhibition runs for 3 days (September 19th to 21st) at 7/5 Square, Dien Bien Phu Ward.
The opening program included performances by artists from the Dien Bien Provincial Ethnic Art Troupe and the Art Troupe of Luang Prabang Province (Lao PDR).

Delivering the opening remarks at the Exhibition, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vu A Bang highlighted the tourism potential and distinctive strengths of the Northwest provinces.
The Organizing Committee presented flowers and commemorative flags to representatives of provinces and cities participating in the activities of the Northwest Quintessence Festival – Dien Bien 2025.
The welcome gate led visitors into the Exhibition area.

Delegates visited the exhibition space of unique tourist destinations of Dien Bien Province.
Visitors explored booths showcasing traditional brocade weaving of the Lao ethnic group in Dien Bien.
Lao Cai Province’s booths displayed traditional brocade products.
Visitors enjoyed Lao Cai Province’s culinary booths.
Phu Tho Province’s booth attracted many visitors with its signature dishes: sour pork, fermented pork rolls, cassava cake, and rice cake.
Thanh Hoa Province’s culinary specialties were introduced.
Dien Bien Province’s booth displayed OCOP (One Commune One Product) items.
Khanh Hoa Province’s products were also featured at the event.
