On the morning of January 11, Dien Bien Phu city solemnly held the Opening of the Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu 2025, with the theme “Spring Comes to the Villages - Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom”. Attending the Festival were comrades: Tran Quoc Cuong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Thanh Do - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; other provincial leaders from the People's Council and the People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; and a large number of locals and visitors.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hung - Chairman of Dien Bien Phu City People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee emphasized: The Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu in 2025 kicks off activities to celebrate the political events of the country and the province in 2025, especially to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.

The organization of the Cherry Blossom Festival is of great significance, clearly demonstrating the direction of Dien Bien tourism, linking tourism development with cultural preservation; considering culture as the foundation to promote the development of typical tourism types in the province. At the same time, it demonstrates innovation in thinking and working to build new, unique and attractive tourism products, contributing to promoting tourism development, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of Dien Bien province.

The Organizing Committee presented flowers and souvenir flags to the athletes participating in the Festival.

The Festival is also an opportunity to promote the image of the people and homeland of Dien Bien, attracting and calling on investors and tourists to come to Dien Bien to learn about the potential for investment cooperation and tourism trade.

With the theme “Spring Comes to the Villages - Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom”, the Cherry Blossom Festival is held from January 11 to 12, 2025, with many rich and diverse activities such as: Special art program to welcome the Festival; booths displaying high-quality agricultural products and OCOP products, introducing cultural and tourism products of the city; Cultural space of 03 ethnic groups: Thai, Mong, Kho Mu; booths introducing and promoting cuisine and camping; culinary competition program “Flavors of Dien Bien"; a “bánh chưng” (square sticky rice cake) wrapping contest; kayak racing; “pa pao” ball throwing; and traditional sports and folk games.
