Special cultural exchange activities between Vietnam and Japan and Sake - Mong Pe wine party
Within the framework of the Cherry Blossom Festival - Dien Bien Phu in 2024, on the morning of January 13, at Flower island, Pa Khoang commune, Dien Bien Phu city took place a cultural exchange performance between Vietnam and Japan and a Sake - Mong Pe party wine. Attending the program were Mr. Takio Yamada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam; Mrs. Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Committee. On the side of Dien Bien province, there were comrades: Tran Quoc Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mua A Son, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; former provincial leaders; Comrades, members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; Standing People's Council; leaders of the People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province and a large number of people and tourists.

The Vietnam - Japan cultural exchange performance program includes 13 works of diverse genres such as: Folk songs, folk dances, musical instruments, typical music of Japan, traditional dances of Thai and Mong ethnic groups in Vietnam and traditional folk dances of Japan. The performances of "Sakura", "Northwest Spring Festival", "Beauty of the Highlands", "Spring in Dien Bien", and "Spring Festival" by artists and actors from the Provincial Art Troupe and community cultural teams in Dien Bien Phu city were vividly performed, attracting the enthusiastic attention and cheering of a large audience.
After the Vietnam - Japan cultural exchange performance program, the delegates performed the opening ceremony of Sake and Mong pe wine. The opening ceremony is the Sake smashing ceremony (also known as the Kagami Biraki ceremony), this is a traditional Japanese cultural feature with the meaning of bringing good things, luck, representing happiness and prosperity. Mong Pe wine is a type of wine produced by the Mong people in Tua Chua district, Dien Bien province to introduce to a large number of people and tourists.
